GUIDED IMAGERY:
Guided Imagery is a powerful therapy tool that can be used in all areas of life encompassing physical, emotional, and or
spiritual issues. It is as old as psychotherapy itself, and has been know by many different names; visualization, directed
daydreams, active imagination. It operates on the premise that the mind, body, and spirit are connected. What the mind hears,
it believes, and the body then follows that direction.
In the case of illness, somehow, through trauma or negative talk, the mind has gotten in the way and disrupted the normal
function of the body. Through Guided Imagery the Therapist can bypass that censor we call the brain and go directly into the
buried emotions of the subconscious. This place of healing can bring to the surface painful or negative issues that need to
be seen, understood, and resolved.
An imagery experience is like a dream except we don't have to wait for the unconscious to provide the dream or the subject matter.
We can create a dream at any time to cover any desired subject.

Sessions are tailored to the specific individual's concern or issue. The individual is very much in charge of the session, and
the number of sessions can vary depending on the person's needs. First, imagery is used to guide the client into a meditative state,
altering the brain wave frequency to an alpha state. This results in a lowering of the heart rate and pulse, the immune system is
strengthened, the metabolism increases, and healing is accelerated. Once the client is in this relaxed state, the Therapist uses
imagery to gently begin to set the framework for the client's journey. Where the journey goes, is determined by the client's subconscious.
Guided Imagery with a caring therapist provides a safe, non-invasive, and non-judgmental place for facing your fears or negative aspects
of self. Feeling protected, supported, listened to, and understood is one of life's most healing experiences.
